Mt Buller Condominiums, Victoria
Deb Richardson and her partner Rod run the Mt Buller Condominiums management company, which looks after some thirty apartments spread around the Mt Buller area. It is a very busy job despite the fluctuations in bookings—much affected by seasonal conditions such as poor snowfalls and bushfires. But a positive attitude helps a lot—and service is what Deb and Rod’s business is all about, on of those being the very personal way in which guests, irrespective of uncongenial arrival times, find themselves greeted at the doorway of their ‘home away from home’ by Deb, key in hand and ready to explain the features of the apartment.
To run the apartment rental efficiently, Deb chose Starfleet software, which has been running the administration now for four years. An important part of the software is the trust account module that tracks collections on behalf of individual owners, outgoings, commissions, etc and provides monthly detailed accounts. As Deb puts it “ it really saves a horrible amount of late night work that I used to do poring over spreadsheets”.
Service has made Deb and Rod’s business successful, and service is what they expect when it comes to their suppliers. Deb pronounces herself well satisfied with the Starfleet Customer Support people. “They’ll talk me through the problems on the phone”, she says but when all else fails so to speak, Starfleet’s ‘remote operation’ mode allows ‘a peek into the system’ to ascertain exactly what is going on. “It’s been invaluable”, Deb states—and as a result her knowledge and confidence in Starfleet’s software has grown with the years.
