Flinders Station Hotel Backpackers, Victoria
The Flinders Station Hotel offers comfortable economy accommodation for over 500 guests and has a range of facilities to provide for an enjoyable, relaxed stay. Services include a large self-catering kitchen and dining area, spacious walk in cool room for food storage, telephones, as well as fax and photocopying services. Guest accommodation includes 3, 4 and 10 bed dormitories, twins and doubles with en-suites. Starfleet software has been installed to provide an integrated point-of-sale and reservations system which also caters for the requirements of two other related backpacker facilities, the Exford Hotel and the Melbourne International Backpackers.
Darren Rudd and Mark Morrison who manage the three facilities have extensive experience in the hotel business and selected Starfleet software after a thorough evaluation of management systems. They settled on Starfleet because of its versatility and integrated point-of-sale features. Darren Rudd states that the he has been impressed with the level of service available from Starfleet and that the adding on of the Exford and Melbourne International hotels has also proceeded smoothly.

Starfleet Front Office is on a network of two Windows based PC’s in reception together with the
Vingcard software. This is on a subnet attached to the main network and the data is also available
from other locations on the network.
