The Atrium, Mt Maunganui, New Zealand
The Atrium is an extensive apartment complex situated at Mount Maunganui in the beautiful Bay of Plenty area of New Zealand’s North Island east coast. There are some 61 individual apartments of which 44 are available year-round for casual, longer or short-term rentals—and they are popular with the many tourists who come to enjoy the wonderful surf and surrounding countryside. The remainder are occupied by owners or permanent renters.
John and Brett Cochrane are the owner-operators of the complex’s management company. Their organisation looks after both the visitor and the individual investor who might own one, or more apartments.
John explains that he took Starfleet software again when he and Brett started their Mount Maunganui venture on October of 2006 (John had used the Starfleet software when operating a motel in Hamilton). John Cochrane explains that Starfleet’s ‘Back-Office module is absolutely invaluable in managing The Atrium. The booking/billing software is integrated with a trust account module that tracks collections on behalf of individual owners, outgoings, commissions, etc and provides monthly detailed accounts. John Cochrane is extremely satisfied with Starfleet’s performance both in performance and backup, which he states is “brilliant” and the after-hours help, is professional and thorough.
HARDWARE
AND SOFTWARE
A Windows PC network is used with a server and six workstations. Starfleet software comprises Front Office, PABX Link, MYOB Link, and Debtors, as well as the integrated Starfleet Point of Sale software to two points.
