Armidale Pines Motel
Brian and Gwen Ostenfeld own and operate Armidale’s Armidale Pines Motel, which opened for business in December of 2006. The 19-unit motel represents a life style change for the couple, who some two years ago were living in Sydney where Brian worked in the road service area of the NRMA. Not only are his fingernails clean these days, but the new business venture is proving very successful, Brian explains.
Reservation and billing operations are of course essential to the business and Brian is well satisfied with Starfleet’s software performance in this area. He explains, however, that ‘there’s more’ including a link to Quickbooks financial software providing management accounts, and other essential business information. The telephone monitoring package is also proving its worth. Brian says that Starfleet’s software is certainly doing its job, keeping the wheels turning smoothly, as occupancy rates for the Armidale Pines Motel have been very gratifying. One of the very useful modules which are part of the software package is the on-line booking feature which puts the motel in the ‘big league’. Starfleet’s service level is also to Brian Ostenfeld’s satisfaction and he and his partner Gwen look forward to continuing to enjoy their change of surroundings and new business venture for years to come.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
A Windows PC network is used with a server and six workstations. Starfleet software comprises Front Office, PABX Link, MYOB Link, and Debtors, as well as the integrated Starfleet Point of Sale software to two points.
